The author of She’s Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True explores the consequences of war and violence in his new novel. After surviving a violent rampage by students at the school where she teaches, Maureen struggles to overcome the trauma. She and her husband retreat to a family farm where they struggle to make a future out of the ashes of the past.

While waiting for construction work to finish on his New York restaurant, A Voce, chef Andrew Carmellini was confined to the tiny Manhattan apartment kitchen he and his wife share. The result is Urban Italian, featuring recipes he created for home cooks. Ristorante Bartolotta chef Juan Urbierta will prepare a meal inspired by Urban Italian at this event on Tuesday, November 18.
